- Involved querying multiple data sources within the prospect company as well the public sources to answer key questions during due diligence
- Evaluated company-wide prospect parameters such as chemistry, manufacturing and controls (CMC), manufacturing partnerships, financial health and information, the clinical product pipeline, suppliers, and the existing talent pool
- Required the acquisitions team to calculate the risk of acquisition based on the data mined for these parameters, compare it with other scenarios and arrive at a decision
- Needed manual interventions and took a long time. This led to inaccurate identification of key variables, and missed opportunities.

1) Mining

- The mining tool extracted information from the prospect company’s databases as well as public domains for the relevant parameters.
- The decision-making tool then identified key variables, ran risk calculations and cross-company models and provided a one-page reckoner for the acquisitions team to base their decision on
- The new solution offered a self-serve option for reports
