Our client is a fortune 500 global biotechnology medicines company that discovers, develops, manufactures and markets pharmaceuticals for critical illnesses. They focus on human therapeutics and concentrate on innovating novel medicines based on advances in cellular and molecular biology.
The Challenge
As access to data increased our client realized that there was additional demand from stakeholders to create analytics that cater to their user stories. This led to the creation of many dashboards. A study team member typically utilizes at least four or five such reports to get the information they need for conducting their day to day work. For most of these dashboards, they must filter through hundreds of studies, sites, and subject information to find what they are looking for. In many cases, these reports contain so much data that it takes up to 10 minutes for the dashboard to open and then they must filter to get to their metrics.
The Solution
MResult helped design and build an AI chatbot that can cater to the needs of multiple stakeholders across all organization levels from various business functions.
The chatbot serves as a one-stop solution for retrieving information from multiple reports at the click of a button. Additionally, the chatbot serves as a tool that can answer standard queries regarding various systems such as the Clinical Trial Management System and Electronic Data Capture System.
The (Natural Language Processing) NLP voice enabled search feature renders the convenience of multitasking thus saving valuable time for any user. Instead of filtering through many reports, the study team member can go task the chatbot to answer questions such as, “How many Patients are enrolled at my Site”.
Outcome
By leveraging the chatbot, study teams can get answers to their question about metrics and systems within seconds as opposed to the 6-8 minutes per metric or data point it previously took to retrieve the same information. This 5-minute decrease of turnaround time to retrieve information is significant. For example, a stakeholder may need 10 different metrics at once. Prior to the chatbot implementation, this process could take up to 1 hour. With the AI enabled chatbot assisting stakeholders, that same request will only take 10 minutes.
Further, the chatbot serves as virtual tool in stakeholders’ briefcase that allows them anytime anywhere access to key information for on the fly rapid decision making.
