Our Client
Our client is a fortune 500 global biotechnology medicines company that discovers, develops, manufactures and markets pharmaceuticals for critical illnesses. They focus on human therapeutics and concentrate on innovating novel medicines based on advances in cellular and molecular biology.
The Challenge
MResult developed a low-cost SharePoint site for the Regional Medical Division of our client. The site serves as a one stop shop for their field staff to effortlessly access core content related to their products. In order to keep the content relevant to the audience, our client wanted to utilize analytics on the site that would provide information about who was visiting the page and what kind of content is being accessed.
SharePoint has its own analytics module however, most of the metrics it provides is at an aggregate level with minimal user information at the granular level. The division needed to acquire such information so that they could focus on providing meaningful content. In addition, our client wanted to collect usage data based on site visits and apply that information to enhance the site UI/UX functionalities.
The Solution
MResult created a dashboard within SharePoint to visually present the site activity data using graphs and charts to the decision makers. The solution was a combination of T Web Technologies like HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and few out of the box solutions from SharePoint Platform. Each site visit creates a record which was then stored and presented visually on this dashboard within SharePoint. Data points included, landing on the page, buttons & click events, search keywords, and time on the site and commonly used browsers. All the information stored in the list is then aesthetically presented with charts and graphs.
Outcome
The visual dashboard enables stakeholders to effortlessly analyze data so that they can make meaningful decisions regarding relevant content. By utilizing this data and continuing to update the SharePoint Site, we were able to increase the traffic by almost 50%. In addition, 80% of the target population is returning to the site to access information.
